Welcome to the Roel Willems website (www.rmwillems.nl)
This page is intended to give an overview of my work. I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California Berkeley, working in the D'Esposito lab.
Before I was at the Donders Center for Brain Cognition and Behaviour, in Nijmegen.
Some of my work is on co-speech gestures and language (with Peter
Hagoort and Asli Ozyurek), on the neural basis of communicative
action generation (with Ivan Toni), and on the influence of
bodily experience on semantic representations (with Daniel
Casasanto). We also wrote about the embodiment of language
understanding.
